The ego is often thought of as a negative character trait someone may possess which means they are super arrogant, obnoxious & cocky. But in terms of psychology and personal development, the ego is something we all have, it is essential to our survival and an incremental part of the mind. But with no awareness of the ego and how it works, we run the risk of it highjacking our behaviour, self sabotaging our progress and standing in the way of what we truly desire!
Gaining knowledge of the primary functions of the mind allows you to have a deeper understanding of yourself and others, helping you live in a more compassionate and self loving state where you experience much less pain and inner conflict.
Quote of the week
"The moment you become aware of the ego in you, it is strictly speaking no longer the ego, but just an old, conditioned mind-pattern. Ego implies unawareness. Awareness and ego cannot coexist." Eckhart Tolle
